Autumn poem

On grass all soggy,

drops that act

like pandas cling

onto the soaked green

Multi colored rain

jackets stand out in

the teardrop rain.

Worms squiggle

in the puddles

and perform a show

without anyone knowing.

Muddy shoes

splat and make

foot marks on the

wet soggy ground.

The orange flag

bends and dances

in the strong wind.

Rain tingles

into the gutters

that whisper

in the rain.

But the first daisies

bloom in the soaked

green grass.

Children start to run around

and happiness comes

to Waimairi school.
